I used Adobe Photoshop 7.01 to scan old photos into Photoshop(WinMX OS). The photos are 3200 dpi and create a PSD file size of about 250,000 kb and JPEG file size of about 80,000 KB. I saved the originals in PSD or TIFF format and they all open again with no problems.
I spent hours touching up the old photos, using mostly the rubber stamp tool, and then saved them to JPEG. None of the JPEG files which I have done all of the work on will open now. When I try to open them I get an error message "cant open file… because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found".
Does anyone have any ideas about the cause of this problem and any solutions? Are there any fixes which will allow salvaging of the JPEG files which contain so much work? Is this an Adobe Photoshop bug?
I would appreciate any help anyone can provide
