Filter not working

every time that I try to applied the filter lighting effect I got a message that said "could not complete the lighting effect command because cannot found a property value"
What’s with that?
What the heck is this thing?

I can’t remember if this applies to that filter, but many filters will only work if you are in 8-bit and rgb mode under image>mode.

True but normally they’re grayed out so you can’t even access them.

Have you reset preferences Dan?

Yes, I reset the preference and the first time it didn’t work, but now it’s working fine. Why? Don’t know, but at least is working.
