When I try to use the paint brush tool — click , shift click the points do not join. It works fine in my version 7.0, but I cannot get this feature to work in CS. It doesn’t work with any tool. Two points should join if you click and then shift click. My version is a cs download upgrade 7.0 to cs with windows xp

Are you thinking pen tool here? Brush has no "points" as far as I know.

Make sure you have spacing turned on for the currently selected brush.

Shift click always works for brushes – but without spacing enabled, it doesn’t do much.

(I’m guessing you loaded some extra brush presets that had spacing disabled)
