Can’t load Photoshop

I have several versions of Photoshop and have recently upgraded my computer and installed Windows XP professional. Whilst other software programs load okay, all attempts to load any of the Photoshop programs meets with failure. I click on install and nothing happens! I think the installshield must be corrupted but I’ve compared it to my laptop which runs Windows XP home edition and it looks the same. Can anyone suggest a solution please?
