Its a great tool but I cant seem to do it to all the layers in a file at once? Im using version 7 and am a very intermediate user of PS so there might be something Im missing. Even a way to merge all the layers, do the color replace and then undo the merge without loosing the color replacement, but I cant do that without loosing the replace…
Any help appreciated

Any filter, effect, or adjustment done through menus (as opposed to adjustment layers) only applies the the current selected area of the active layer, or the entire layer if there is no selection. You could duplicate all layers, merge the duplicates, then do your adjustment, but there’s no way to make an adjustment on several layers at once.

Might want to mosey over to the Feature Requests forum.
