Print with Preview >Colour management >Print space Do you select Same as Source or the Paper you are using? I used the Paper identity with my Epson 895 printer and results were very good. Using the 8 ink setting + paper description with my HP Photosmart 7960 printer produces yellowish prints.Using Same as Source produces good results. Why can’t I use the paper/ink setting with the HP printer?
It seems the correct way is to set in Print space the paper to be used but this will not work with the 8 ink setting and my new HP printer. Incidentally it works with the 6 ink setting e.g. HP Photo Glossy paper 6 ink is fine, 8 ink useless. What am I doing wrong or is the 8 ink setting incompatable with PS7?
Help would be much appreciated

The paper.

Sorry, I can’t help you with your HP questions.

The Epson profiles are good! the HP profiles, to be diplomatic, probably suck! The only option is to profile the papers/ink your self-$$$

Gordon,

You either select "printer color management" as the print space then select medium type, etc., in your printer settings OR you select an output profile in the print space then TURN OFF color management in your printer settings. (The latter assumes you have a good output profile for your printer/medium combo.)

You must do one OR the other. Trying to do some combination of both will produce unpredictable results.

If you do not have a source of good profiles for your printer/media combos, you can try creating your own custom profiles using one of several profiling products on the market today.
