I use the Photoshop film grain filter quite a bit in producing still renderings. To also use it for animation I have been batch-processing a folder full of still frames through PS. The filter does not seem to be available in either After Effects or Premiere. It adds grain, but also affects contrasts in a way I would like to reproduce in the video software.
Can anyone explain how the filter works in steps, one being adding noise, but I am not sure about the rest?
I have available PS-CS, After Effect 5.5 and Premiere 6 and Pro (about which I want to rant along the ‘it wasn’t broke so why did you ‘fix’ it’ line) all on a Windows platform.
Thanks in advance
