My animated short film, "The Depression of Detective Downs", is now online at IFILM.com. I used Adobe Photoshop to paint in all the characters and to create the backgrounds. I then used Adobe Premiere to edit it all together including the video as well as sound.
Even though the film is animated, it’s a very character-driven story. It involves a cop named Rolando Downs. Detective downs is having one of the toughest weeks of his life due to automobile problems, financial woes, and the fact that his new partner doesn’t stop talking enough to pay attention to anything he says. All this wouldn’t be so bad, though, if he didn’t also have to solve a kidnapping case while at the same time battling a bad case of depression.
So far the film has won two awards on South Dakota’s KDLT during "The Caribou Show" and was shown in Dearborn, Michigan last month at the Reel Life Disability Film Festival.
