I am fascinated by the picture in the link below.

Can anyone help shed some light on how this result can be achieved using Photoshop, suggesting any plugins needed for it if necessary. I am using Photoshop CS2

Incredibly simple.

1. Select the woman.

2. Use the Emboss filter.

3. Fill (Edit->Fill) with the gold color in Color mode.
