I am evaluating Photoshop 7 and cannot get the white paintbrush to reduce the selection in quick mask, as I could in 6.0.Use the black? Are you trying to add to the mask or subtract? Is the brush Opacity set to 100%?
Any ideas anyone?

You can look at the actual mask in the Channels palette to make sure.
