For some reason certain files do not have the option for saving as a JPEG OR TIF. I am unable to distinguish these files from other files that offer all the saving options. Any ideas on how to get around this problem?

Check Image|Mode on an image that isn’t allowing you to save as JPG. What does it say?

If I recall correctly, you can only save jpegs as one layer. Flatten your images and then jpeg will be allowed.

Margaret, you’re right, but having layers won’t prevent JPG from being an option, it will just flatten the image when you save it.
