Do 3rd party plugins work in Elements 2? I have a few and I can’t seem to get Elements to recognize them. I’ve installed them in the plugins folder and they don’t show up

Addendum to question:

I tried the Preferences|Scratch disks and plugins assignment option, but that doesn’t seem to work either.

1) What kind of plugins are you using? Some of them show up in other places like the Import/Export plugins go in the File menu usually.

Or, if the plugins are older, there’s a chance they won’t work on newer versions of either Photoshop or Elements because the API (programming interface) is different.

Kristin, are you using a mac, by any chance? Most plug-ins written for os 9 won’t work in X. You could try running PE in classic mode if that’s what’s happening.

I’m running Elements on WinXP. I have Auto FX, SuperBladePro, Xaos Tools. All purchased last year. Maybe I’m not installing them to the place I should, but if I follow the directions and point Elements to the folder they’re located in, they just don’t show up where I expect them to show up. Should I be looking for them in the filters tab or effects tab, or someplace else?

Kristin

They should appear at the bottom of the Filters drop down menu, below the separator.
