I’ve used Photoshop for years. I just got my Photoshop into a mode that i’m not familiar with, and I don’t know how to recover.
Using Photoshop 7, nothing unusual about installation. Platform is Windows 2000.
When I try to edit an image using IMAGE|ADJUSTMENT|BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST, I encounter the eyedropper tool rather than the usual adjustment window with the sliders.
Sometimes escape cancels, but sometimes i have to fight the program to get the ESCAPE key to cancel the mode so that I can regain control.
Sometimes when i enter this mode, the eyedropper expects the four sampler locations to be sampled on the image.
Everything else seems normal.
What did I do, and how can I undo it? I’ve reset all tools to default, but that did not help. I’ve tried all keyboard and mouse tricks that I can think of, but nothing seems to prevent Brightness/Contrast from going into this mode.
Feeling embarrassed and frustrated!
Please send an email response to:
thanks!
