I have installed the TRYOUT version of Elements v2.0 and have noticed something a bit strange!

When the Elements window is the current active window (i.e I can see my cursor in the Elements window area), whilst I am doing NOTHING, the Elements application takes around 12 or 13% of my processor. If I click to another application then the processor time used by Elements drops to less than 1%. As soon as I click back onto the Elements window, but do NOTHINGT again, it goes back up to 12 or 13%.

I’m using Windows-XP Pro on 2ghz 512mb system.

Any ideas or explanation?

Cheers.

Paul.

Paul,

Methinks you are applying too much energy into watching your processor activity. When you have Elements chosen as active, you are activating ScratchDisk plus other internal activities, when it’s not actively selected, it’s not. I suspect that’s where the processor comes more into play.
