What am I doing wrong. I thought that if I copy a path in Illustrator and I go to paste it in Photoshop, I’m given the options to paste as pixels, a shape or a path. Once I’m in Photoshop it automatically pastes as pixels. When I tried to paste something from Freehand, I actually get the prompt, but the only option Photoshop will permit is as pixels. I want to paste a path in Illustrator as a path in Photoshop. What do I need to do?

Is this a preference setting?

And check the option for exporting paths, which should be obvious when you get there.

Don’t feel too dumb, this is a common "mistake."
