My new Photoshop sharpening action set makes it easy to obtain professional sharpening of your digital images.

It’s free to all and include sophisticated sharpening features. I engineered this toolkit to include the best features of commercial sharpening tools, like Focal Blade and Photokit Sharpener. Features include:

• Sharpen with Highpass Filter or USM sharpening.
• Sharpen edges and surfaces separately (or either alone). • Sharpen light and dark pixels separately.
• Generate masks using luminosity or color boundaries or a composite of the two. • Brush in creative sharpening/blurring.
• Blend If settings protect against sharpening highlights and shadows. • All sharpening is done non-destructively using layers.

Glen,

I get an error on opening your pdf tutorial. It states my reader can’t decrypt this document. I have Acrobat Reader 4.0.5. All my other pdf’s open fine.

As for the .atn file will it work in any version of PS on any OS?

Also the .atn file after it’s unzipped doesn’t have a file type or creator indicator for my Mac in OS 9.2.2.

The last time I tried to download something from your site a while back as I remember I got the same results and gave up. You’ve also double posted to the Windows PS forum as well. What gives?

Why bother if you’re not going to fix this?

Reader 5.0 opened the pdf fine here on OS X 10.2.8. Stuffit expander unzips the .zip file to 2 items, the action (TLR Sharpening Toolkit.atn) and a .txt file.

Since the action is a standard Photoshop .atn file it should work on any recent version of Photoshop on OS 9 or OS X.

It runs fine here on PS 7 & 8, OS X 10.2.8 and 10.3.4

The problems you’ve run into are on your machine.

The actions downloaded and work fine here (G5, 10.3.4). The .pdf file also works fine. Now, all I have to do is to learn how to use it.
