Editing using Elements causes file size reduction when saving file in PSAlbum 1.0

I’ve been using PSAlbum 1.0 and PSElements 2.0 since May of this year.

When I use Elements as the "outside editor" for my Album images, the file size is always reduced when saving the edited image in Album.

Is there a "work around" way to solve this problem short of buying Album 2.0 in which, I understand, this bug has been fixed ?

Is there a way to save the edited image in Elements to preserve it’s full file size?
