you can create an action for this and as Ann says think in pixels

But be sure not to touch the filename, this is the reason that the file overwrites it self.

First create a destination folder for the SFW files on your HD. Just create an action that first reduces the size of your tiff to for example 10 x 15 cm and convert the colorspace to sRGB (unless it is already sRGB). Then go to SFW and fill in the desired pixel ammount in image size and use the apply button. then use the save as option and without changing the filename choose the destination folder. Then hit OK and as Ann said, include the close file without save option in the action, this leaves your tiff file untouched.

If you have both landscape and portrait you can create two actions and use Bridge to sort the files in portrait and landscape.
