Fresh install of PS 7.0 with upgrade performed. PS would never run. Consistently got "Could not Initialize because of a program error" just as the splash screen got to checking memory. After reading through forum I (just for grins) upon program start held down "alt", "cntrl" and changed the scratch dish from "F" to "C". Problem solved. Loads fine.
My query is now, why can’t I select drive "F" (preferred drive,,,,80gigs contiguous free space and not primary Windows drive). I’ve used PS 7.0 on Win2000Pro for years with the scratch disk set-up on "F" with no problem. It’s not life or death but I’m must be missing something pretty simple. Thanks, THane
Windows XP/SP2
Pentium 4 2.53GHZ
1 GB Ram
NVIDIA GEForce FX5200
Primary DRive "C" 54 gig free
Secondary DRive "F" 80 gig free. Defraged twice a week.
