Hi All,
Here’s the deal. I deal with about 1000 images a week for a web site. I have to automate in PSCS typical tasks to get a 800 pixel tall image. I then optimise them in Fireworks ’cause it just works better. I get a great looking image that’s about 40k..perfect. I then switch back to PSCS and make thumbnails 200 pixels tall but now the thumbnails are 90-110k!

I always thought jpegs are compressed each time they are saved. What is it that PSCS is doing that takes a large image makes it smaller yet BIGGER?

BTW I’ve spent hours getting my workflow streamlined and it HAS to go through FW then back to PSCS.

Thanks,

Warren

using "save for web" or "save as jpg"…?

are you turning off profiles and previews?

are you looking at the actual filesize or that which the OS is reporting?
