Save for Web Won’t Open (but not grayed)

I’m working in OS 9.1 with Photoshop 5.5. OK, so I’m behind the times, but perfectly happy, until the Save For Web option stopped working. I tried many different files and file types, and the Save for Web option is black (not grayed out), allowing the option to be chosen, but once you do nothing happens. Having to jump back and forth to ImageReady is no fun at all … please help!

I recall that is covered in the FAQ…

Yeah, I saw that, but missed the "or unavailable" part. I only saw the "greyed out," which is not my problem. I’ll try following those instructions to see what happens.
