There is a 7.01 update. Have you installed it ? Have you tried the CTL ALT SFT key sequence , immediately on starting Photoshop, to delete the "prefs" file and give you a new start ? You might try deleting the printer and re-installing it .

When you say, "FYI, neither idea worked, but I am glad to have updated to 7.0.1 " , did you actually get the prompt to delete the prefs file ? or did you simply see nothing happen when you tried the key sequence. If the latter, try , try again. It’s a tricky timing thing, and you may want to navigate to the file and manually delete it if the key sequence doesn’t work . It should have a ".psp" extension, but I’m not sure where it is , now that I don’t have Pshop 7 installed anymore.
