I have tmy artwork at 9.5×5.812 and dpi 300- well I have the resolution set as that (300) but it doesn’t offer a box or info about the dpi. How do I change that cause it keeps sending as 200 dpi? I need the dpi at 300.

Brittany,

Image resolution in Photoshop is expressed in PPI (pixels per inch), so if you’re seeing DPI (dots per inch) quoted somewhere, then I’m guessing it might be in your printer settings, although 200 dpi would be a rather low quality print setting if you’re striving for a continuous tone appearance. So yes, you could easily see 300ppi as the resolution of an image while you’re telling your printer to print at 200dpi. DPI and PPI are not equivalent values although it is a common belief that they are. There is a pretty good write-up at Steve’s Digicams that you might find helpful if you’re confused by DPI and PPI.
