I’m looking to automate a crop command in PS.

I’m starting with a 230×230 white canvas with an image on it. I want to run a batch that will crop the white canvas as close to the edge of the image as possible.

Is this doable?

How about using image trim?

Is there a way to crop a certain amount of pixels from just the top or sides?

I’m not a pro at this but I think I would select all, then transform the selection to the desired size, cut Ctrl+N>Enter>Ctrl+V. <shrug>

Actually, you don’t even have to make a new one. You could just select crop from the image menu.

If the number of pixels is the same for each image and all images are the same size, the Image > Canvas size command should work. You would need to specify negative values, e.g., -200 pixels. It appears you would need to apply the command twice… once to cutoff the horizontal slice, once for the vertical slice.

Does this help?
