Does anyone know how to automate a batch command that will export each layer in a Photoshop document as separate Jpg image?

Thanks in advance

Here are two recent threads that discuss some options:

There’s also an action at www.AtnCentral.com that will cycle through the Layers Palette one layer at a time, giving you the option of giving each file (from a layer) a custom name.
