I have received a file with 8 alpha channels. I need to convert this to a jpg. There is only 1 background layer. When I convert to cmyk or rgb, the colors become radically different (a red car becomes pink). HELP!!

The alpha channels do not have a bearing on what you are seeing. What you are seeing is the difference in color gamut between RGB and CMYK.

Use CMYK soft proofing to create your image so that it will have acceptable CMYK output, yet still be RGB; or, build that image from scratch as a CMYK image.

Peace,
Tony
