I have done a search on here and on Google, but I am unable to find the answer I am looking for.

I want to create a template whereby I can drop images into various positions in the template without having to re-size every time and create a new layer.

At the moment I have to delete each layer to get rid of the previous image and then do it all again.

Don’t know if this can be done, if so, please can someone point me in the right direction

Save the template under one name. When you work on it save under a different name. Don’t save any changes to the original template and it will always remain "blank".

Also investigate using the "Place" command to drop in your images. This will creat "Smart Objects" which you can resize and resize again without any loss of quality.
