I just installed CS2 and am loving it. However, I think I am confused by color management.

I have calibrated my monitor with Spyder2 which created a "monitor profile".

Many of my NEFs have embedded SRGB color space.

In PhotoshopCS2, I have set the color prefereneces so my monitor profile is used.

Every time I open a picture, I get told about a mis-match (that the embedded profile doesn’t match my monitor profile).

What is the correct action to take here (replace the embedded, or use the embedded, or do nothing)?

Also – when I print (to my Epson Picturemate), I now say do no color management. Is that also the best?

Thanks for any help (from an obvious newbie).

There’s your mistake. You should set your RGB working space to either AdobeRGB(1998) or sRGB if preparing images for the web or viewing on-screen.

Take some time to read through:
