When I hold down the shift key then click, to start erasing in a straight line, the line always starts at the last place I used the eraser. Is there a way to turn that off, so that the line starts where I click? I’m using Photoshop CS 8.0 & Mac OS X.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Press the shift key after clicking on the first point of the straight line.
