How can I draw an arc in photoshop? I’ve used the pen tool to create the curve I want and using paths and strokes can build an arc, but it cloese the arc by conneting the two endpoints with another path. How do I keep it from creating that closing connection path?

At the left end of the Option Bar at the top of the screen, there are three icons. You probably have the leftmost one, "Shape Layers", selected. Select the middle icon, "Paths", and then draw your arc.

To stroke the resulting path, make sure the path is active in the Paths palette, select any painting tool (Brush, Clone Stamp, Eraser, etc.), and press Enter. Or, you can select "Stroke Path" from the Paths palette menu.
