I was browsing titles at amazon, and ran across a book called Teach Yourself Visually Adobe Elements X.

Since the book isn’t available currently, I assumed that maybe the Elements program is going to be updated soon? Is there any information about elements X and also where can I find information about other adobe products future upgrades?

Final Question:

Can elements be upgraded (at the lower price) just like the other adobe titles? Or will I need to buy a whole new program when and if the new program becomes available in the near future.

thank you!

looks like you stumbled apon something that just makes no sense. Elements X is AKA Elements 2 in all the sites i found…uk sites. You’ll have to wait and see if they allow for the special price upgrade when and if it is released.

Or perhaps it does make sense… Photoshop CS has been out for a while now… then to assume that PSE 3 (or X) will come out soon… 😉

Last time a user reported something similar, I did a search, and found that Photoshop Album 2 was being listed on some software sites and, guess what, two weeks later it was available!

Here’s my finding. What’s interesting is that the books are listed from June 2004 to January 2005… ! So, I guess a new version of Elements will be available by June!

This one gives even more details… Ladies and Gentlemen, let’s start to dream because there’s a mention of "automating repetitive tasks" and "adjusting shadows and highlights.." (perhaps, à la
Photoshop CS ?!?!?! Woohoo!)

Perhaps I getting carried away a little bit.. 🙂

I suspect they are using X to indicate a variable the book covers both versions 1 and 2 ….

As far as upgrades there was a reduced price for previous owners when version 2 came out, but it was not an upgrade.

Wow thank you for the research and great answers guys!

Maybe X does indicate a generic variable – OR maybe we have stumbled across the next upgrade!

Maybe that’s what they are going to be designating the next Adobe software after CS?

A June upgrade would be really fab!
