Hi,

I use Photoshop CS2 on a G5 with OSx 10.3, mostly to retouch old photographs. Recently I’ve found if I select part of a picture with the magic wand tool, and then apply the dust & scratches filter to that selection, a thin dark line appears right down the centre of the image (outside the area that has been selected).

Can anyone offer a reason/solution?

Thanks

Sam

Hum,

what happens if you make you selection a different way?

Are you viewing the image at 100%? Does the line disappear when you zoom in/out?

If you save the image and reopen, is the line still there?

Have you tried trashin your preferences?

Someone had the same problem posted here a while back. After a few attempts, I could reproduce it, but not consistently. Don’t think it was ever resolved.

Yeah, that was me, and I did report the bug. I don’t know if the recent patch would fix it, but I’m doubtful. I use CS instead of CS2. Is it still giving you the line problem with the latest patch?
