A friend of mine reported me this problem, asking for help:

She selects the text tool and when she clicks on the working area to begin writing, a window opens with this message:

Assertion < infub <= <buf + sizeof<buf>>> failed in "SAHYALLO.C", line 134

This window can’t be closed and after that PS freezes and she needs to force quit it.

She is using PS CS on a Mac G4, Mac OS 10.3.9.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

That’s not a Photoshop error message.

Please check with your friend about what program they’re actually using.

Chris:

She said that having only PS CS open she has the same result. She also Repaired Permissions and used DiskWarrior to no avail.
You say it’s not a PS message, in fact it seems to be an OS message. ¿It could be some corrupted OS X file?

No, that doesn’t sound like an OS message, either.

ImageReady has some messages similar to that, but not quite the same.

The only time I’ve seen a message like that was in a pre-release version of a third party plugin.
