I’ll have to transfer a photoshop 7 from a mac os 9 to a mac os X.

Will it be incompatible?

Photoshop 7 works on both systems you will need to reinstall it for OSX.

Just install it from the original Adobe install CD. Don’t migrate, clone or "transfer" it.
