Cannot open documents

I use Creative Suite Premium on a G5 with latest OSX.
Suddenly I Get this message "Could not complete your request because of a programme error". This happens with all documents in any format either from within the application or double-clicking on the document icon. I get the same if I create a new document.
I have re-installed CS1. Used Disc Utility & runn Disc Warrior. Can anyone help!?

Try resetting the preferences (see the FAQ for how)

Solution:

Well it has taken all (I mean all) day.

In the endd I took a Picture Viewer doc>get info. changed the "open with to Photoshop".

Bingo. It opened and everything else has ever since.

What is that about? Hope this helps anyone else struck with the problem.

What is that about?

Its how OSX knows what file to open with which app. Its been this way since it was first released.

Yes, I fully understand that.

But why should that fix the problem which I first posted. A problem which has recurred.

By telling you whether there is corruption in your regular account.
