Missing Filters

I installed Photoshop CS2 from the Creative Suite, but i’m missing many filters, as well as the filter gallery. Does anyone know why this is?

Because i’m in a photoshop class right now that has the same photoshop version and it has the filter gallery, and many more filters.
When i look in the filters folder, i see all of them, but they don’t appear when i open Photoshop

If you create a new RGB 8bits/channel image, are the filters then available?
