Anyone else think Photoshop needs a better fractal noise filter?

I’m surprised that after all these versions, PS still has a really simple fractal noise generation filter (Render Clouds). While AfterEffects gives you a huge amount of control with it’s Fractal Noise effect, PS is limited still to a ‘one type only’ cloud filter (with no controls at all!). I would have thought that a tool allowing you to create various organic, procedural patterns (clouds, veins, bumps, etc) would be a hugely requested feature in PS. I use Fractal Noise in AE extremely frequently, for a large variety of uses.

Any thoughts/comments on that?

Yeah, I thought so too. This doesn’t cover all the bases, but the free plugin "2d hyperclouds" does offer more options (scale, levels, intensity, random generators, etc). You can get it at:
