I am trying to wrap my head around calibrating my 30d to ACR. I have Bruce Fraser’s book here (Camera Raw). And I understand most of the calibrating proceedure.
Its the white balance that most confuses me. During the calibration process, I use the white balance tool to even the numbers up. I then proceed to calibrate the patches. When I am all done, I save only the calibration settings.
When I come to use the now calibrated ACR for a shoot, and I import some pictures, and I use, say the cloudy setting. That seeems odd to me. Shouldn’t I have tried to calibrate the best I could without using the white balance tool?
My calibration was also suspisiously extreme. Two of the sliders were pegged.
Can anyone help?
