Drop-down menus displaying strangely

Using Photoshop CS2, 9.0.2 on Mac OS 10.4.8. Drop-down menus do not display top item (i.e., under "File" does not show "New") and when scrolling down through items they disappear. Clicking on an item causes the action immediately above to take place. Does anyone have any ideas?

My idea is the usual, Trash/Reset Preferences.

Did this just start happening? Anything new, like an OS upgrade? Have you moved any part of the Program out of its folder?
