We just released a plug-in set called Texture Anarchy for creating realistic, procedural textures. Similar to textures in Bryce and other 3D programs, they’re generated mathematically which means they have no resolution limits and can be scaled up/down pretty much infinitely. The three filters create regular procedural textures, textures that seamlessly tile, and distressed and textured edges around images and text.
