There is an issue/question where I currently work. We save (os 10.4.11) over a network (yes Ramón I know about saving over a network–I just can’t help myself) over the network without a problem– our system/network is well maintined.

An associate insists that if I do an info on a file (to see if it is finished saving) while another using is in fact saving the file (a psb), he insists it doing that will corrupt the file.

I don’t see how–os wise it makes little sense to me.

Has anyone heard of this?

do an info on a file (to see if it is finished saving)

that sounds very reasonable if someone else is saving the file on a network.

is everyone still on 10.4.11?

or

could the person having trouble be using 10.5.3?

Makes no sense from a technical point of view (bugs notwithstanding). But the proof is in the pudding: Make 10,000 trials and prove him wrong.
