Setting up Photoshop for Print

1) I know there is a way to set up your Photoshop so it is always prepared to do print work. I don’t recall because I have always used it primarily for the web.

2) Also when you I have photos on a CD and open them up in Photoshop do they automatically open in the resolution that they were saved at when the photos were taken; or do they open up at whatever resolution I have set in Photoshop. Please someone help me.

1) Do you mean the colour settings? If yes, explore that dialog box.

2) Depends if the file format they were saved in includes the resolution (it really doesn’t matter whether the files are on a CD or your hard drive). IIRC, when resolution is not included in the file, PS defaults to 72 ppi
