Arial Font hosed… CS3 Photoshop 10.5 leporad…Mac Book Pro.

Hey folks…. It been a while since I put something out here…..

So I have CS3 Web Premier in Photoshop my Arial font doesn’t look like arial font. (it sorta looks like cosmic sands.)

Well all of my other programs look fine and correct, like MS work excel and such…. And arial looks fine in those programs….

Can someone point me to the way to repair my Arial font in Photoshop?

Arial has nothing to do with Photoshop. It is a separate entiy.

Most of us use FontAgent Pro font manager to find corrupt and damaged fonts.

Hey guys

Thank you so much….

I installed a trial copy of FontAgent Pro. And low and behold I found out that my ArialMT font is corrupt. So I need to hit the apple store for a copy or ping one of my sources for the reload.

Ok this is interesting…. When I try to put in a new ArialMT it seems to look like cosmic sans..

Ideas guys?

clean out your font caches.

I use Cocktail to do this

Are the OS’s the same?

Where is the font located in the system where it works? Apple is famous for crappy font handling.

and they still can’t get it right because there are too many flavors of fonts controlled by nut job companies.

Clean out the fontcaches is usually the remedie for this kind of trouble.

also keep in mind Arial is Microsoft’s cheap imitation of Helvetica so they wouldn’t have to pay royalties.

Thank you so much for your help. I installed Cocktail and ran a system clean. This dump all the caches in the system….

Now I have a clean running system and my Arial and ArialMT look like they should.
