PS CS2, XP SP2. Someone sent me a TIFF (grayscale)that consists of several layers, some of which include effects such as outer glow, bevel, etc.
I need to place the TIFF in Quark 6.5. Should I flatten and resave the TIFF first (to a new file, of course, in case I need to go back to the layers)?
I’m guessing that the image is gonna get flattened somewhere — either by me now, or by the RIP later. Is that correct, or am I making it up?
Is it a bad idea to send the file to press without flattening the TIFF? I don’t know what RIP the printer uses, but I suppose I could find out if I need to know.
TIA,
Marlene
