Thin white outline surrounding an image I composited

I selected an item using the usual selection tools. I moved it into the main photo and ended up with a 1 or 2 pixel white outline around the added item. This makes the added item (person) look like a ghost. Thanks for any help you might offer.

Bob,
1. I assume that you set your selection tool to feather a certain amount.
2. With the "marching ants" still active, go to Select>modify> contract. You have to play with the degree of contraction.

Thank you Kenneth!! Very good suggestion. Big improvement but still a little white halo. I will continue to experiment.

Maybe try a 1-2 pixel feather along with Ken’s suggestion.

Try turning off anti-aliasing when selecting.
