I created a rectangular button with the shape tool between a couple of guides. Now I converted that layer to a smart object. I duplicated the smart object to create an additional button.
How can I increase the size of the button later on?
Upon editing the smart object itself it seems like the canvas is limited to the size of the original button shape. When I upscale the button, or say I want to create an outer bevel, the effects are out of the canvas bounds and after saving the smart object .psd. the buttons won’t update.
I tried increasing the smart button’s canvas size but that causes my buttons to appear smaller.
I can resize one of the button’s in my webpage.psd file though but that won’t affect the other button. Also when I make changes to the smart object file later on, my button sizes will get screwed up.
What’s the advanced theory behind smart objects and how should I overcome this issue?
Thanks in advance…
