Disappearing presets?

Recently something wierd is happening with CS2: my addon layer styles, and this morning, the items created by me in the presets/layouts folder, have disappeared! Has anyone here seen this kind of wierdness??

Have you actually Saved them to that folder?

Backups are always a good idea too.

I didn’t think to backup the layouts, luckily I retrieved them from another machine in my office (I work with both). As far as I can tell, when you create the layouts, they go there by default. All I know is, whem I got to the "picture package" dialog, the normal things I have available were not there!
