I searched the forum for this and didn’t come up with any hits, so thought I’d post.

To my surprise I just found that the /3GB switch works with Windows MCE 2005.

I’ve got 4GB of memory and PS CS2 recognizes 2.7 or so with the switch set. Without the switch it’s about 1.7GB.

Since I know I’ve got 4 out there, I jacked the memory usage preference up to 100% and while I’m still measuring the effect, it seems to have increased performance by at least 25%.

The flip side is that Windows now only sees 3GB where prior to setting the switch it reported about 3.4+ GB of available memory.

I haven’t seen any degradation in the O/S and CS2 is running better than ever.

If the Windows Aero interface ends up hogging extra memory, I may get better performance out of CS2 on MCE, than I would with Vista and CS3.
