Hi Guys,
I have this weird problem that I never seen before.

I’m trying to import a vector file from freehand,
using a simple copy paste action.
Usually I could copy a vector from freehand and paste it in photoshop and now I can’t, and I get this message:

‘Could not place because the parser module cannot parse the file’

What does it mean?
Did anyone run into this message before?

Does this happen with every Freehand file or just one particular one?

Use Edit>Copy Special>Photoshop EPS or Pixels (2 separate choices, either one should work).

That should have read "EPS for Photoshop 4/5 pixels" or "EPS for Photoshop 4/5 paths".

The memory is the second thing to go… 🙂

so far i never had to use export from freehand,
I always copies and pasted without no problem
or even draging the vectors directly to photoshop
but with sc2 i’ve been having some problems…

Well, it’s not really an Export function (at least in my version, FH9). It’s a part of the Edit menu and it works well. It enables you to paste FH vectors as smart objects.

I have the same problem.
I’m using Freehand MX and Photoshop CS2.
I get a message: "Could not place because the parser module cannot parse the file".

I have Freehand and Photoshop at home and I don’t have a problem.

How can I fix it???

I read it but I don’t exactly understand.
I tried copy special from Freehand either to "EPS for Photoshop 4/5 pixels" or "EPS for Photoshop 4/5 paths" but non of them work.

It’s possible that Macromedia changed the Copy Special function in MX (I use FH9 and FH8).

Just to be sure:

Select the objects for copying in FH
Go to Edit>Copy Special>EPS for Photoshop 4/5 pixels, click OK Bring up CS2 and (assuming you already have a document open) choose Edit>Paste. At that point, the Paste dialog should appear and offer a number of options. Paste as Smart Object is my preference.

If you are following those steps and receiving an error, you need to contact Adobe since they now own FreeHand.

The paste as smart object does not work as well.
I tried to contact Adobe but only finding the right way took me hours… HO, I’ll let you know if I got any response.
Thank you.
