I was under the impression that tiff files can go as high as 4gig, but photshop cs2 seems to not like anything above 2 gig. is there a setting for this or is that just what it is? it would be much easier for me to have a 4 gig file rather than 2.
is this changed in cs3 or the same?

tiff limit is 4 gig…

"cs2 seems to not like anything above 2 gig"

What do you mean by "seems"?

You can’t make one, you can’t save one or you can’t open one above 2 gigs?

can’t open one over 2 gig. I would like to be able to open and save tiff images over 2 gig

(stupid question, but it needs ot be asked)

Do you have the large document option turned on in preferences?

so can anyone confirm or deny that a 2gig filesize limit on tiffs is a hard feature in cs2? can anybody do a test in cs3?

I could open a 2.24 GB file in CS3, but it took 5 minutes. That’s in Windows XP, with Pentium 4, 1 GB of RAM, and about 88 GB of scratch disk.
